Kevin Preston
Barrister
Kevin received a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Sheffield in 1989 and a Master of Laws from the University of Central Lancashire in 2005. Admitted in England and Wales in 1992, he subsequently practiced as a solicitor advocate at Farleys Solicitors before immigrating to New Zealand and joining the Public Defence Service where he became Wellington's Public Defender. He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2009 and undertook practice on his own account in 2018.

Jamie Connell
Barrister
Jamie Connell was admitted to the High Court of New Zealand in 2025 after graduating from Victoria University (LLB) the same year. Prior to and during his law degree, Jamie gained valuable experience within the court system, working as a Registrar at both the Palmerston North and Wellington District Courts. He then served as a law clerk to a senior Wellington barrister for the remainder of his degree.
Jamie is an employed barrister with Kevin Preston. He assists Kevin with his clients while also managing clients of his own. Jamie appears regularly in the District Court on a range of criminal matters. This includes discharge without conviction applications and traffic matters such as Limited Licences. Jamie has also conducted appeals in the High Court.
Known for his thorough preparation, clear and calm communication, and client-centred approach, Jamie is committed to achieving the best outcomes for those he represents.
